TO IMPROVE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM RETENTION RATES, WE RECOMMEND:
◎ When identifying an animal, ensure to have matching code male and female tag parts
◎ Be sure to use the correct applicator for the chosen ear tag and carefully read the application instructions before proceeding
◎ Make sure the applicator striker needle is not damaged, otherwise replace it. If the striker needle is too long it can puncture and damage the male tag part. Conversely, if the striker needle is too short, the interlocking process between the male and female tag parts may be unsuccessful resulting in an inadequate closure of the tag thereby increasing the risk of eventual loss
◎ Disinfect the tag and applicator prior to application
◎ Be sure to use the correct applicator for the chosen ear tag and carefully read the application instructions before proceeding

◎ Keep the animal perfectly still during tag application
◎ The female portion of the tag is placed on the inner part of the ear
◎ The male portion of the tag is placed on the outer part of the ear
◎ Apply the tag in the centre of a space delimited by the passage of two ear veins
◎ Once the tag is applied, rotate the male and female parts in order to remove any cartilage fragments and to promote healing
◎ Disinfect the point of incision
◎ Store unused tags in a clean, dry container far from extreme temperatures and humidity
◎ The female portion of the tag is placed on the inner part of the ear
◎ The male portion of the tag is placed on the outer part of the ear
◎ Apply the tag in the centre of a space delimited by the passage of two ear veins
